Pupil Premium Funding
At St. Giles’ & St. George’s CE Academy, we have high aspirations and ambitions for our children. We are determined to ensure that our children are given every chance to fulfil their potential, regardless of their circumstances. We believe that children’s thirst for knowledge, dedication and rich experiences are what enable them to succeed and our role in fostering this culture is vital. We never confuse eligible pupils with low ability, instead we strive to maximise outcomes for all.
What is Pupil Premium?
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.
The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as ‘Ever 6 FSM’). At STGG we have enriched the provision for all of our pupils.
If you would like any further information about whether you are eligible to claim Free School Meals, please collect a form from the school reception or contact the Bursar.
