Our vision for The Orchard classroom is to create an inclusive, nurturing, and dynamic learning environment where every child is empowered to thrive, discover, and grow. At the heart of our approach lies the belief that every child is unique, capable, and full of potential. By embracing a thematic curriculum, we aim to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection, weaving together subjects and skills in meaningful contexts that resonate with our learners.

By integrating themes that reflect real-world experiences and interests, we seek to make learning engaging and purposeful, nurturing a lifelong love of discovery. Our classroom is a space where every child can flourish at their own pace, supported by dedicated staff, innovative teaching methods, and a community of care.

The Orchard Internal SEND Provision opened in September 2025. The Provision is integrated seamlessly within the existing infrastructure of the academy, providing a familiar school setting for students attending the Orchard.

    Our Texts This Term:

    PE Days

We have PE on Thursdays and Fridays and children can come in their PE kit for the day. Our Friday session is led by Time 4 Sport with the main focus of learning fundamental skills like balancing, throwing, catching, hand/eye coordination.

    Homework

Reading books are sent home with your child to enjoy and practise together. We also share your child's learning targets so you know what you can work on with your child at home. Where appropriate, children are given individual work to support learning against their targets.

    Upcoming Events

    11th Feb - Discos

    The Pears Orchard

Our Pears Orchard supports children with communication and interaction provisions as well as supporting children with their individual targets on their support plans. Children are based in their year group classroom but may join for learning provisions (EPATT) or support developing their motorskills and physical/sensory needs. Some children may attend the afternoon sessions where further support is given on communication and interaction as well as accessing a practical curriculum relevant to their Key Stage or year group.
