Year 5 Space spring 16-17
Earth and Space!
In Year 5’s first topic, some of the things that we will do are
- Explore our solar system
- Draw and scale planets
- Create 3D planets
- Research about the physical barriers of being in space and
- Use Oreos to show the different moon phases.
On Tuesday 21st November, Year 5 visited Jodrell Bank as part of their Earth and Space topic. As we neared closer, we could see a giant white structure, which we soon found out to be the Lovell Telescope and it is the third largest in the world! We carried out scientific experiments to observe how healthy astronauts are in space, investigated how meteors affect the moon’s surface and also made the fire that would allow a rocket to take off.
