Welcome to Year 1 where there are two classes, taught by Mr Greathead, Mrs Gray and Miss Maqsood and supported by Ms Ryder and Mrs Parton. Our first topic, in the Autumn, is Toys Over Time. You can find our weekly timetable and curriculum overviews below.
Below is an example of a typical week in Year 1.
This half term we have forest schools on a Wednesday. Pupils should wear their school uniform and bring wellies and a waterproof coat.
Our PE day is: Thursday
Pupils may wear their school PE kit to school on these days.
Children should have their book bag, reading book/diary and a named water bottle in school each day.
If your child is self-isolating, please log into your child’s Microsoft Teams account. For day 1 and day 2 of self-isolation there will be an assignment set for them to complete. From day 3, they will asked to log onto Teams and access the live sessions of the day (the teacher will post a message with the times once they know your child is at home).
We will be looking for children to be reading at home with their parents or carers. Listening to children read will enable them to grow in confidence as they become fluent readers.
We encourage your child to complete as many of the activities from the menu as they like at home, but NO LESS than 3 over the half term. This can be recorded (if appropriate) in our home books. We will ask for homework books on the last Monday of each half term in order for us to share and celebrate the learning.
