Welcome to EYFS, where we currently have two classes led by Miss Snape and Mrs Hissey supported by Mrs Carter, Mrs Huckfield, Miss Greatbatch, Miss O’Leary and Mrs Smith. Our provision consists of three rooms (Badgers, Hedgehogs and Squirrels) all set up to support every child’s individual needs.

In Nursery, our theme for Summer 2 is 'Journeys'. During this topic, we will explore the seaside, summer holidays and travel.  We will also continue to follow the lifecycle of our caterpillars and release butterflies once they hatch from the cocoon, keeping a picture diary of our observations over time.  Finally, this half-term we will celebrate our successes with our EYFS Summer Festival Day and Nursery Graduation, before we prepare for the exciting transition to Reception.

In Reception, our theme for Summer 2 is 'Commotion in the Ocean'. During this topic we will continue to explore different maps and how we use them to travel the oceans. We will use our research skills to answer the question 'are all animals that live in the sea, fish?'. We will also prepare for our exciting transition to Year 1!

You can find our weekly timetable example, curriculum overviews and key dates for your diaries below.

Homework will be set every week (on a Friday) via Class dojo with a focus on an area of the EYFS curriculum (PSED, Physical, Communication and Language, Literacy, Maths EAD, UTW). You can return the homework by the following Friday via Class dojo so we can see it. If you require paper copies of the homework, if appropriate, please just let us know. We would also encourage you to read at home with your child at least 3 times a week and practise their phonics sounds with them on a regular basis using the Supersonic Phonic friends Newsletter.

Here is how we say the sounds of each letter of the alphabet:
